Perfectly situated on each end of the Olympic Peninsula, Lake Crescent Lodge to the north and Lake Quinault Lodge to the south, these historic treasures of the peninsula provide both the perfect launching off point to see the beauty of the peninsula and a most relaxing retreat at the end of your day’s adventure.
In October of 1937, President Franklin Delano Roosevelt toured the Olympic Peninsula on a fact-finding tour to determine if the Peninsula should be preserved as a National Park. During his visit, he dined at Lake Quinault Lodge, located just beyond the park's southern boundary, in the now-named Roosevelt Dining Room, and stayed at Lake Crescent Lodge on the northern part of the park. The lake-side cottages the president stayed in are now called Roosevelt Cottages in his honor as well.
To commemorate this special tour and the 75th anniversary of the park, the Lodges of Olympic National Park and Forest are offering a Heritage Package which features three nights at Lake Quinault and/or Lake Crescent Lodge for $399 plus $40 per night resort credit. Additional nights can be added for an additional $99, and does not include lodge credit. Retrace Roosevelt's steps, or stay all three nights in your favorite lodge with this offer.
The Heritage Package is available from through December 31, 2013. Blackout days may apply. (Hint, the best time to book this package is May-June and November-December). It can be booked online with the promocode HERITAGE. Or, for visitors wishing to stay at both lodges, book by calling 888-896-3818.
