2011 Marks Lake Quinault Lodge`s 85th Anniversary!
On August 28, 1924, a fire originating in a kitchen flue consumed the entire structure of the original Lake Quinault Lodge. Reconstruction began in June of 1926 and on August 18 a beautiful new resort hotel was unveiled - Lake Quinault Lodge. Though this grand Lodge is quite different from its humble predecessor, it continues to offer the same historical spirit of gracious hospitality as it once did.
August 18th, 2011 marks the 85th Anniversary of the completed construction of Lake Quinault Lodge and to celebrate the same an event was hosted at Lake Quinault Lodge.
The all-day event included activities like face painting, lawn games, a croquet tournament, an evening reception with speakers Dena Leavitt, great granddaughter of the original owners, Ralph and Francis Emerson, and Joel Garrison, grandson of construction superintendent George E. Garrison and much more. The following is a quote from Dena Leavitt.
“Lake Quinault Lodge was a labor of love for my great grandparents,” said Dena Leavitt, “they wanted to share the beauty of the lake and rain forest with others through a warm and inviting lodge. I’m pleased to see that today their legacy continues to live on.”
The lodge is continuing the celebration of its 85th anniversary by offering a special $85 a night rate from October 1 to December 22, 2011. Make sure to check out our 85th Anniversary Offer
