Kalaloch Lodge

Fishing
The cool, clean waters of the area's creeks and rivers offer some of the country's best fishing. Ask the front desk for information on guided fishing trips in the area, or about surf fishing at nearby beaches. Fishing supplies are available at the mercantile. Please check with us about regulations and licensing requirements, as licenses are not sold at Kalaloch.

Storm Watching
Kalaloch was ranked one of the "10 Best Places to Storm Watch" by Seattle Magazine. During the storm season (November to April), guests visit just to experience the thrill and power of a Pacific storm.

Clam Digging
Digging for clams is a wonderful family activity on the Kalaloch beaches. The National Park Service opens the beaches at certain times of the year for clam digging. A license is required, and the harvest of clams or any other marine life at any other time is illegal unless posted and approved by the Park Service.

Whale Watching
One of the most popular seasonal activities at Kalaloch puts some of the world's largest whales within arms reach as they migrate past coastal points. Over 20,000 grey whales swim past Kalaloch Lodge twice a year, traveling between summer feeding in the Bering and Chukchi Seals and their nursery and breeding grounds in Baja California, Mexico.
Lake Quinault Lodge
Fishing
The waters just outside our front door are rich with a variety of fish including steelhead and salmon and many more. To take advantage of our premier fishing spots, ask us about arranging a guided excursion with local tribal or non-tribal guides. Fishing trips can be customized to meet your needs. Bait and other fishing supplies are available at the nearby Mercantile shop. Since this area includes both U.S. Forest Service and Tribal lands, be sure to inquire about regulations and license requirements.
Boating
Take your choice...there are several ways to explore the tranquil waters of Lake Quinault. We offer sea cycles, canoes, row boats and kayaks, so treat yourself to a wonderfully relaxing experience on this unspoiled, glacier-carved lake. For more about boat rentals, ask at the front desk.
*Please note: boating is a seasonal activity and is usually available June thru September.
Lake Crescent Lodge
Fishing
Lake Crescent is known for its one-of-kind Beardsley Trout, identified by its unusual head that takes up 1/3 of its body. The lake has become a strictly catch and release for the past few years in hopes of bringing back the native Beardsley and Crescenti Trout populations. A limited supply of fishing equipment is available at the lodge, but guests are welcome to bring their own rod, reel and wading gear, as the lake is renowned for its fly fishing. |

Boating
Explore the beautiful glacier-carved Lake Crescent with a rowboat rental from Lake Crescent Lodge. You can fish, have a picnic lunch or just drift with the breeze and bask in the warm sunshine. The lake is known for its crystal clear water that's over 600 feet deep in parts. Many private residents who live around the lake still get their drinking water directly from the lake.
